The Supreme Federal Court experienced another day of confrontations between ministers this Sunday, the day before the trial scheduled for Tuesday that could open an investigation against Alexandre de Moraes. The dispute centers on the procedures adopted for the case and access to sensitive data that will be analyzed during the session.
Minister Cristiano Zanin determined that the Federal Police send to his office a copy of the full content of Daniel Vorcaro's phone, owner of Banco Master. A few hours later, Gilmar Mendes followed the same determination, requesting access to the same data. Both ministers justified the request as necessary for the proceedings of the trial.
In a contrary position, André Mendonça sent an official letter to the president of the STF, Edson Fachin, reinforcing his opposition to sharing all this material. Mendonça claimed there is no need to analyze all the data downloaded from Vorcaro's iPhone for the proceedings of the case.
This Tuesday's trial could open an investigation that directly involves Alexandre de Moraes, which explains the escalation of tension between the court's ministers over how to conduct access to and the publicity of Vorcaro's phone data.
