The US President, Donald Trump, announced today that the United States will leave Iran, unless Washington decides to take the country's oil, comparing this possibility to the situation in Venezuela.
Trump referred to Venezuela as an example of a similar situation, suggesting that taking the oil could be an alternative to the American withdrawal from Iran.
Regarding Venezuela, Trump also stated that he still does not see conditions for holding elections in the South American country.
The statement comes in the context of tensions between the United States and Iran, with Trump suggesting that the only reason to remain would be to guarantee access to Iranian oil.
