Karina Gama, producer of the film "Dark Horse" about the trajectory of former president Jair Bolsonaro, stated that she feels pressured to enter into a plea deal, but declared she has no information to incriminate anyone. In an interview with CNN Brasil, she denied any irregularities and stated that the contracts signed by the production company are protected by confidentiality and non-disclosure clauses.
Karina Gama was one of the targets of Operation Make Up, authorized by Supreme Court (STF) Justice Flávio Dino. The operation investigates the diversion of parliamentary amendments for the film. Dino also authorized this week the lifting of the businesswoman's tax secrecy and that of the Instituto Conhecer Brasil (ICB), which she owns.
The Instituto Conhecer Brasil holds a contract of R$ 157 million related to the film. The lifting of secrecy was authorized by Dino after the São Paulo Court of Justice had denied the request, and the minister also ordered the police to return the seized cell phones.
