Ronaldo Caiado, presidential candidate for the PSD, was diagnosed with pneumonia and has been hospitalized since Thursday at Hospital Vila Nova Star in São Paulo. The diagnosis was confirmed after chest CT scan exams. Initially, the health indication pointed to the former president of Goiás suffering from acute pharyngitis.
According to a note from the hospital signed by cardiologist Ludihmila Abrahão Hajjar, Caiado was clinically stable, breathing spontaneously and showing good clinical progress after hospitalization.
The presidential candidate's campaign informed that Caiado will be discharged this Sunday. The candidate has interrupted all campaign activities since hospitalization.
In a video posted on social media, Caiado stated he is a "galo de terreiro" (rooster from the yard) and that the hospitalization was just a "hiccup." He said he was receiving the correct medications and already foresaw his discharge this Sunday.
