The Remanufacturing-X project is a European initiative worth 7 million euros that aims to transform industry through circular economy solutions. The consortium is coordinated by NOVA FCT, the Faculty of Science and Technology of NOVA University of Lisbon.
The project will combine artificial intelligence solutions with other technologies to give new life to industrial products and materials. The main objective is to promote remanufacturing and resource reuse in the industrial sector.
The initiative emerges in the context of the circular economy, an economic model that seeks to reduce waste and maximize the use of existing resources, in contrast to the traditional linear production model based on extract, manufacture, and discard.
