The Judicial Police is investigating the most recent cases related to arbitration in Portugal, reported "Correio da Manhã". Several referees have been heard and are said to have agreed to hand over to authorities conversations from their respective mobile phones, where compromising messages and audios are found.
The investigations involve one million euro prizes, blackmail situations and pressure on referees. The elements collected from the referees' mobile phones are said to have been fundamental to advancing the inquiries.
The case arises in a context of multiple investigations into arbitration in Portugal, with authorities closely monitoring the development of proceedings.
