A fire broke out on Saturday afternoon in an area of scrubland and pasture in the parish of Salvada/Quintos, in the municipality of Beja. The flames remained active the following day after its occurrence, continuing to pose a threat in the region.
The firefighting deployment mobilized 98 operational personnel, who were supported by 32 ground vehicles. Two aerial assets were also deployed to assist in the fire suppression operations.
The information was reported by Civil Protection, which monitored the evolution of the situation on the ground. The fire originated in a rural area of the Beja district, in the Alentejo, a region frequently affected by wildfires, especially during the summer months.
