Vasco secured their first away victory in the Brazilian Championship by defeating Grêmio 2-1 at the gaúcho's arena in Porto Alegre. The result represented the breaking of two taboos: it was the first time in twenty years that the club managed to score at Grêmio's stadium. The vascaíno team continued fighting against relegation while also dreaming about the Copa do Brasil title.
The match started negatively for Vasco, who wasted clear chances in the first half and conceded a goal from Villasanti after a defensive error from goalkeeper Léo Jardim. The team risks falling even further in the Z-4 of the standings.
In the second half, Thiago Mendes, who had started poorly in the match, equalized at the 30th minute with a backheel pass from Lescano. The forwards Colidio, Bruno Duarte and Lescano were responsible for solving a difficult and open game, securing the comeback and the three points.
