Câmara de Lobos, in the archipelago of Madeira, was elected Wine City 2027 during the Intermunicipal Assembly of the Association of Portuguese Wine Municipalities (AMPV). This title recognizes the importance of the region for Portuguese wine production.
Câmara de Lobos' candidacy managed to overcome the competition from Vale do Lima, which was also vying for the title. The decision was made within the assembly that brings together the municipalities associated with AMPV.
With this election, a significant boost to local wine tourism is expected. The distinction as Wine City 2027 should attract more visitors and investments to the region, enhancing its wine-making traditions.
