The Cáritas Diocesana do Funchal is promoting, this weekend, a food collection campaign at Pingo Doce commercial surfaces in Madeira and Porto Santo. The initiative is taking place under the motto "A small gesture for a great cause" and aims to collect food goods to support people and families in situations of greater vulnerability.
The campaign mobilizes around 260 volunteers who will be present at the supermarkets to promote the collection among customers. In addition to the volunteers, the initiative has the participation of approximately 30 partner entities that collaborate in the organization and execution of the campaign.
This solidarity action arises in a context of continuous need to support the most vulnerable communities in the region, allowing consumers to contribute with food donations during their regular shopping. The Cáritas Diocesana do Funchal thus continues to play its role of social response in the Diocese.
