The Central Regional Section of the Portuguese Medical Association and the League of Friends of the University of Coimbra Hospitals are promoting a traditional initiative called the "Rega da Oliveira" (Olive Tree Watering), which will take place next Tuesday.
This celebration marks the 47 years of the Portuguese National Health Service.
The event brings together healthcare professionals and other figures in a symbolic activity that is repeated annually around this time.
The initiative aims to pay tribute to the NHS, which was founded in 1979, thus completing almost five decades of existence.
