Meta would be testing robots to perform tasks within its data centers, according to current and former company employees familiar with the projects of Mark Zuckerberg's company. The information was published by Wired magazine.
The initiative could allow Meta to reduce labor costs, at a time when investments in artificial intelligence infrastructure continue to rise. The company is seeking ways to optimize its operations with the advancement of AI.
The editorial staff heard several Meta employees, who asked not to be identified, and reported that the company is using robots and hardware equipment from different suppliers, including Watney Robotics, Kinova, and ABB. Meta would already be conducting evaluations with these robots for various tasks within the data centers.
