Penafiel beat Felgueiras 2-1 in the Vale do Sousa derby, in a Liga 2 match, and rose to provisional leadership of the championship. Juanda opened the scoring in the 27th minute for the visitors, a result that was maintained until halftime. Felgueiras reacted in the second half and equalized in the 62nd minute, through Samuel, but Clau Mendes decided the match in the 83rd minute by scoring the winning goal for Penafiel.
With this victory, Penafiel adds 13 points from six games and takes first place in the standings, level on points with Lus. Lourosa, who has one game in hand. The Penafiel team thus reaches leadership after a very positive start to the championship.
After the opening day defeat against Portimonense, Penafiel has not lost again, adding since then a draw away at Torreense and wins against Sporting B, FC Porto B, Académica and Felgueiras. Felgueiras, for their part, has only six points and is in 12th place, after two consecutive defeats.
