Young people aged 9 to 19 can get the HPV vaccine this Saturday (12th) at Maracanãzinho, in the North Zone of Rio, during the women's round of the South American Championship — Olympic Qualifying Volleyball. The operation will have the participation of the Super Centro Carioca de Vacinação and the Center of Reference for Special Immunobiologicals (Crie).
The action is promoted by the Brazilian Group of Gynecological Tumors (EVA) and the Brazilian Society of Immunizations (SBIm), in partnership with the Rio Municipal Health Department and with support from the Brazilian Volleyball Commission (CBV). The vaccine will also be available to adolescents and young people included in the vaccination coverage recovery strategy, known as catch-up.
The sports program will feature three matches: Peru vs. Colombia at 10:30 AM, Brazil vs. Chile at 1:30 PM, and Argentina vs. Venezuela at 4:30 PM. The championship being held in Rio serves as qualification for the Olympic Games.
