CGTP-IN will convene a great national march on October 17, which will take place in Lisbon, Porto, and Coimbra. The union federation announced this mobilization at a press conference in Lisbon, led by General Secretary Tiago Oliveira, with the objective of demanding a minimum wage of 1,100 euros.
Throughout a month, between September 17 and October 17, CGTP-IN will develop a set of mobilization and struggle actions. According to Tiago Oliveira, these actions aim to "discuss the claim action with workers" within the framework of the union federation's so-called "Claim Policy."
The valorization of the national minimum wage constitutes one of the main flags of this mobilization. CGTP-IN thus intends to pressure the government and employers to fulfill this demand among Portuguese workers.
