The third session of the "Conversas de Copo na Mão" cycle took place in Favaios, in the municipality of Alijó, bringing together various representatives of the wine sector to discuss the main challenges and opportunities of the Demarcated Douro Region. The meeting featured the participation of Gilberto Igrejas, president of the Governing Board of the Port and Douro Wines Institute, António Marquez Filipe, president of the Association of Port Wine Companies, and Rui Paredes, president of Casa do Douro and director of Favaios Cooperative Winery.
The discussion addressed different dimensions of wine activity, including regulation and certification, production, business activity, and marketing. The role of producers, associations, and cooperatives in the Duriense territory was also discussed.
The initiative sought to promote joint reflection on the future of the Douro in a context marked by challenges for the sector and the need to find new responses for the region. The meeting concluded with a tasting of 10-Year-Old Moscatel de Favaios, produced by Favaios Cooperative Winery, thus combining debate with the valorization of one of the territory's most emblematic products.
