Crimes committed by minors in Castellón almost double in just one year: more thefts and injuries

El Periódico Mediterráneo - General12 September 2026 at 05:01

The crimes committed by minors under 18 in Castellón almost doubled in a single year, according to data from the State Attorney General's Office (FGE) Report 2026, published this week. The increase materialized at 84.6%, going from 838 total infractions registered in 2024 to 1,547 registered in 2025. Although the report bears the year 2026 in the title, it actually contains the definitive statistics for the previous year.

The report specifically reveals an increase in thefts and injuries committed by minors. This significant growth contrasts with the figures from the previous year, in which a more stable trend of juvenile crime was maintained.

The data was collected by the State Attorney General's Office, the body responsible for monitoring and documenting criminal activity throughout Spanish territory, including the province of Castellón.
