Rafael Pereira, known as "Miniman", claimed the LFA bantamweight world title by knocking out Vinicius Pires in the second round of the main event of LFA 241, held on Friday at Ginásio do Mineirinho in Belo Horizonte. The Brazilian from Minas Gerais defined the fight with a straight punch that knocked down his opponent, leading the referee to stop the contest. The title had been vacant in the division up to 61 kg.
The first round was even, without major shifts in the scenario. In the second round, Pereira found space to hit Pires squarely, and the São Paulo native fell dazed, resulting in the referee stopping the fight. The victory represented Pereira's 11th consecutive win and the continuation of the undefeated streak he has carried since 2018.
With the result, Rafael Pereira now has 16 wins in 20 professional fights. The LFA 241 event was brought to you by Monster Energy and brought a positive balance for representatives from Minas Gerais, with six wins in ten fights among athletes born or training in the state.
