Russian President, Vladimir Putin, warned this Thursday that any sending of European troops to Ukraine would equate to a war against Russia. The statements were made from New Delhi, in India, where Putin was participating in a BRICS summit.
During his intervention, Putin stressed that European leaders are analyzing the possibility of sending troops to Ukrainian territory, which from the Kremlin's perspective represents a significant escalation of the conflict.
The Russian President also took the opportunity to guarantee that Moscow does not represent any threat to European countries, thus seeking to reassure NATO and European Union member states.
This statement comes at a time of growing tension between Russia and the West, with several European countries debating internally the level of military support to provide to Ukraine in its defense against the Russian invasion.
