SpaceX estimates starting to send data centers to space as early as 2027, according to what the company's CFO revealed. Elon Musk's aerospace company believes that orbital artificial intelligence data centers could eventually become cheaper than operating data centers on Earth.
The CFO of SpaceX argued that the timeline for implementing this technology is shorter than many expect. "Everyone will see that the timeline is much shorter than expected," the CFO stated during public remarks about the company's plans.
This initiative is part of SpaceX's broader strategy to expand its services beyond rocket launches and Starlink satellite connectivity. The company now intends to position itself in the emerging market of space computational infrastructure.
