Family members of firefighters killed in the September 11 attacks commemorated, this Friday, the 25th anniversary of the tragedy in New York. The ceremony allowed loved ones to pay tribute to the firefighters who lost their lives during the attack on the World Trade Center.

Among those present was Stephen Siller, son of the firefighter who gave his name to the event. Stephen traveled the same route his father took on September 11, 2001, starting from the Brooklyn Tunnel.

The deceased firefighter's son crossed the Brooklyn Tunnel alongside a steel beam that was recovered from the World Trade Center rubble, in a symbolic gesture that represented the connection between the past and the present.

The event served as a moment of reflection and remembrance, bringing together families affected by the tragedy who marked the quarter of a century since the attacks that killed nearly three thousand people in New York City.
