The European Union is focusing on the Marjal d'Almenara as part of an effort to protect one of its great wetlands. A total of 100 hectares of this wetland area are part of the LIFE project, an initiative that runs over 10 years and aims at the conservation and restoration of wetlands throughout the European Union. This project applies only to areas that are included in the Natura 2000 Network.
The participation of AE-Agró in the project is based on a framework collaboration agreement established with the Generalitat Valenciana. This agreement aims to make effective the execution of the Management Norm of the Marjal d'Almenara space, which was approved in October 2021. Through this collaboration, the goal is to guarantee long-term protection of this wetland of European importance.
