Fernando Alonso didn't have much time to prove himself in his first days at the Madring. A clutch failure on his Aston Martin at the end of FP1 left the Spanish driver in the garage at the start of the second practice session and for half an hour.
Alonso ended up finishing in 17th position, right behind Carlos Sainz with the Williams. This position reflects the difficulties faced during the practice session.
The driver left a message for Honda, warning about the characteristics of the Madring. According to Alonso, finishing the race might be enough to achieve a good result at this circuit.
The technical failure at the start of FP2 significantly limited the Aston Martin driver's preparation time for the competition.
