The final of the New 7 Wonders of Portugal takes place this Saturday, September 12, at 9:30 PM, in Sintra, near the Vila Palace, with broadcast by TVI in prime time. The event marks the last night of voting to elect the new seven symbols of Portuguese heritage.
The Autonomous Region of Madeira is represented in the grand final by a single candidate still in competition: the Monte Palace Madeira Garden. This natural space constitutes Madeira's bid to be included in the list of the new wonders of the country.
The president of the Legislative Assembly of Madeira, José Manuel Rodrigues, will be present at the gala that will take place in Sintra. His presence demonstrates the Region's interest in seeing Madeiran heritage highlighted at the national level.
Saturday night concludes a period of competition that placed Portugal's natural and cultural heritage under the national spotlight, with the Monte Palace Madeira Garden representing the tourism and environmental potential of the Island of Madeira.
