Márquez: "Nothing like last year, this year if you slip up you end up seventh"

El Periódico Mediterráneo - General11 September 2026 at 17:38

Marc Márquez, a Ducati rider, responded to journalists after the first two free practice sessions of the Misano MotoGP Grand Prix, which is taking place this weekend at the Marco Simoncelli circuit in Rimini, Italy. The first question asked of him, in a humorous tone, was once again about the state of his right arm, something that has marked his career in recent years. However, the journalist who posed the question immediately clarified that it was a joke.

The title of Márquez's intervention suggests a reflection on the differences between the current season and the previous one. According to his words, the situation this year is completely different, and any distraction during the races can result in finishing only in seventh place, highlighting the greater competitiveness of the current championship.

The Misano Grand Prix is being held at the circuit named after Marco Simoncelli, in Rimini, and Márquez is competing this season for Ducati after leaving Honda. The competition at this Italian circuit has been one of the most anticipated of the season, with several riders fighting for top positions.
