The Polytechnic University of Portalegre will promote, between September 14 and 16, Welcome Week, an initiative aimed at welcoming and integrating new students into the academic community and the city. The program kicks off on September 14, on Campus, with a welcome session that will feature the participation of the rector of UPP, the mayor of Portalegre City Council, the pro-president for Teaching and Quality, the Student Ombudsman and the president of the Academic Association.

Tutors and mentors will be involved in the welcome process from the very first moment, accompanying new students through a showcase of student support services, set up along the Eco-Trail, as well as through different integration dynamics. On September 15, activities move to each of UPP's schools, where students will have the opportunity to learn about the teaching facilities, meet the school administrations and participate in meetings with the coordinators of their respective programs.

Welcome Week also includes several moments of socializing and fun, such as the Sunset Party, open to the entire academic community, the Color Run and a scavenger hunt that will allow participants to discover some of Portalegre's most emblematic locations. The last day of the program will be marked by a citizenship and sustainability initiative, where new students will be invited to sign a citizenship commitment and plant trees that will form the future "Freshmen's Grove," integrated into the "Portalegre Greener" initiative, with the support of ICNF.
