Middle East: Israeli army denies testimonies about use of AI to bomb Gaza

SAPO Notícias11 September 2026 at 17:26

The Israeli army categorically rejected today the allegations that decisions about bombings in the Gaza Strip are always made by artificial intelligence. This denial comes in response to testimonies presented in the documentary "Naza", which premiered the day before at the Venice Film Festival.

The documentary presents versions that contradict the official position of the Israeli army, suggesting that AI would have a more central role in attack decisions than the Israeli authorities publicly acknowledge.

The Israeli army maintains that bombings in the Gaza Strip are not exclusively determined by artificial intelligence systems, defending that there is always human supervision in military decision-making processes.

The documentary "Naza" premiered at the Venice Film Festival, generating debate about the methods used by Israel in its military operation in Gaza and about the degree of automation involved in attack decisions.
