Fifa reaffirmed that the decision about the host of the 2030 World Cup final will be made "in due time". The organization responded to AFP following statements by the president of the Moroccan Football Federation, Fouzi Lekjaa, who stated that the decision about the final had already been set for Morocco.

The co-organizers of the 2030 World Cup are Portugal, Spain and Morocco, and all three countries are competing for the right to host the final. Madrid advocates for the use of the Santiago Bernabéu stadium, home of Real Madrid, while Rabat argues in favor of building a new stadium with approximately 115,000 seats in Benslimane, in the Casablanca region.

The president of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, Fouzi Lekjaa, assured during a public meeting in the Benslimane region that the World Cup final would take place in Morocco. According to video released by local press, including the weekly Tel Quel, Lekjaa stated: "The province of Benslimane will host the World Cup final. Whether some like it or not."
