The Parque da Senhora do Salto, in Aguiar de Sousa, in the municipality of Paredes, hosted from September 11 to 13 a new edition of "Aldeia em Festa", a three-day event that brings together local products, gastronomy, folklore, and traditional music with the aim of promoting the identity and producers of the parish.
One of the highlights of the program was the VIII Giant Vegetables Contest of Paredes "The Biggest in My Village", whose weighings took place on Friday morning, September 11. This initiative aims to value local agricultural production and recognize the work of producers in the region.
On Saturday, starting at 2:00 PM, the Vegetables and Local Products Fair began, with entertainment by the Amigos dos Bombos, followed by a sunset animated by DJ PIPE. In the evening, at 9:30 PM, the Folk and Traditional Music Meeting of Aguiar de Sousa took place, with performances by the Rancho Folclórico de Aguiar de Sousa, the Tuna Realense, the Rancho Folclórico de S. Cristóvão de Nogueira, and the Grupo Folclórico e Etnográfico de Vieiros.
On Sunday, the last day of the event, there was a Gastronomic Contest with Pumpkins at 1:00 PM and, at 3:00 PM, the awarding of prizes for the giant vegetables contest. The entertainment ended at 4:00 PM with the performance of Renato Ribeiro.
