Kiko Loureiro is a young Portuguese handball player whose career began influenced by his older brother. He first came into contact with the sport as a child, accompanying him to training sessions and competitions, and ended up preferring handball to football. SC Espinho was his first club, where he received his development and considers he could not have had better in terms of staff and directors.
At age 16, Kiko made the difficult decision to leave SC Espinho to join Carvalhos, a club with more possibilities to fight for titles. The proximity to home allowed him to combine his studies at the Carvalhos School with training. At Carvalhos, he made the leap from boy to teenager and realized he wanted to dedicate himself to handball professionally.
FC Porto showed interest in him through Professor Magalhães, and Kiko accepted the invitation despite considering staying at Carvalhos. He believed that FC Porto had more tools to help him evolve. Later, he received an invitation from Sporting CP, which represented a drastic change in his life by implying moving away from home. His father's support, who encouraged him to look at the level Sporting was at, and the presence of acquaintances at the club made the decision easier.
At Sporting CP, Kiko was close to idols such as Salvador Salvador and Francisco Costa, which caused him both fear and pride. His senior debut was described as inexplicable and magnificent. He then transferred to ABC Braga, where he scored ten goals in the first game of the championship. His major objectives include playing in the Champions League, considering it the biggest objective of his career, and he is willing to go abroad to achieve it.
