Portuguese coach Vítor Matos, from Swansea City, was awarded the August coach of the month award in the Championship, the second tier of English football. The distinction was announced today.
The recognition is due to the fact that Matos led the Welsh team to three unbeaten games during August, demonstrating a solid start to the season at the helm of Swansea City.
With this award, Vítor Matos joins other coaches who have already achieved this distinction in the English second division, consolidating his work at the club after taking over the position.
The Championship is known for being a competitive league, where numerous clubs invest in hiring foreign coaches to achieve promotion to the Premier League.
