The Vasco board believes it can cover Richarlison's salary, with terms already agreed upon, if Tottenham accepts the club's purchase offer for the striker. The club intends to fund the player's earnings with revenue generated by the growth of the fan membership program.
The benchmark used is the jump of approximately 20,000 new memberships the club recorded last year with the arrival of Philippe Coutinho. However, the expectation with Richarlison is for an even greater growth than that number.
Richarlison, 29 years old, has a contract with Tottenham until mid-2027. The player wanted to unilaterally terminate the contract, but the real intention was to have the possibility of negotiating a new individual contract. Vasco emerges as a solution for the present, and can also help him in the future.
The purchase offer includes a long contract, four to five years, during which installments would be paid. The club believes that with the revenue from the fan membership program, it is possible for the player to pay for himself by the end of 2026, should he wish to explore new markets after the season.
