Russia accelerates offensive: Moscow claims eight localities in three Ukrainian regions in a week

SAPO Notícias11 September 2026 at 12:45

Russian military forces accelerated their offensive in Ukraine, having claimed the taking of eight localities in three different regions of the country over the course of a week. This offensive represents a significant intensification of fighting in Ukrainian territory.

In the Donetsk region, Moscow announced the conquest of Kurtivka and Novogrishine. In the Zaporizhzhia region, Russian forces claimed the taking of Zorevka. In the Kharkiv region, in northern Ukraine, five localities were occupied: Berezinka, Ozerne, Dolguenke, Zarubinka and Goptivka.

These territorial gains occur in the context of the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine, which has been ongoing for more than two years. The Russian offensive has intensified recently, allowing advances on multiple fronts simultaneously.

The regions of Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia and Kharkiv have been scenes of intense fighting since the beginning of the Russian invasion in February 2022, with various changes in territorial control over the months.
