The worsening of the war in Yemen in recent days has caused 46,000 displaced, announced the International Organization for Migration (IOM). The United Nations agency warned that the numbers are increasing "hour by hour", indicating a rapidly evolving humanitarian crisis.
The displacements are concentrated especially in the provinces of Hodeidah and Taiz, on the western coast of the country. At the same time, arrivals of displaced people were recorded in Lahj, Aden and Ibb, to the south and east of the conflict zone.
The previous toll from the IOM was under 20,000 people forced to leave their homes, which represents a significant increase in just a few days. The humanitarian situation in the country is deteriorating rapidly with the intensification of fighting.
