Twenty artists gathered on Thursday in Shanksville, in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania, to create portraits of the 40 passengers and crew who died aboard United Airlines Flight 93 during the September 11 attacks.
The portraits were made in chalk and will be integrated into a memorial in honor of the victims of this flight, which was part of the terrorist attacks that struck the United States 25 years ago.
United Airlines Flight 93 was one of four airplanes hijacked that day, with the passengers and crew attempting to regain control of the aircraft, which ended up crashing in a rural area of Pennsylvania.
