The Municipal Library of Peso da Régua celebrates 20 years of activity with a commemorative program running from September 16 to 19. The library's facilities host various initiatives to mark this special date.
The program includes an evocation ceremony, award presentations, activities aimed at children, a lecture dedicated to the history of the book, and literary presentations. Cultural entertainment is present throughout the four days of celebrations, complementing the more formal component of the event.
One of the highlighted initiatives is the usual "Café com Livros," which in this special edition features a musical moment with saxophone accompaniment, bringing together literature and music in the same space.
Over the two decades of existence, the Municipal Library has maintained an active role in promoting reading, literacy, and access to culture, asserting itself as a meeting and sharing space for the local community. The celebrations take place at the library facilities, with journalist Vitória Botelho as the author of the program.
