Madeira among the 11 areas with difficulty in attracting doctors

The Order of Doctors revealed that Madeira is among the 11 areas of the country where there is the greatest difficulty in attracting doctors. This identification comes in the context of a broader problem of distribution of health professionals in Portugal.

The Order of Doctors put forward a set of proposals to counteract what it classifies as "piecemeal measures" in the health sector. The organization argues that a more structured and integrated approach is needed to solve the problems of attracting doctors to the most underserved areas.

The proposals presented aim to create more attractive conditions for doctors to work in these regions, including Madeira. The Order thus intends to ensure better coverage of healthcare throughout the national territory.
