A study coordinated by Pedro Passos Coelho concludes that low productivity is the main obstacle to economic growth. The study is not yet finished, but when it is completed it will be delivered to the President of the Republic and the government led by Luís Montenegro.
The work is being developed as part of an initiative led by the former prime minister. The preliminary conclusions point to the need to solve structural problems in the Portuguese economy.
The study will be formally presented to the political authorities after its conclusion, serving as a basis for potential economic policy measures.
