The parliamentary group of Chega in the Assembly of the Republic will present two bills to reduce the tax burden on essential goods. The first bill proposes the application of 0% VAT on a food basket, while the second provides for the reduction of the VAT rate on fuels.
The measures are defended by Deputy Francisco Gomes, elected for the Madeira constituency. The parliamentarian argues that these initiatives are necessary to alleviate the pressure of the cost of living on Portuguese families.
