The Lisbon Stock Exchange opened Friday's session on September 11 with a gain of 0.11%, settling at 9,466.10 points. The biggest rises on the Portuguese stock exchange were recorded by Banco Comercial Português (BCP), which advanced 1.20% to 1.17 euros, by NOS with a gain of 1.08% to 5.17 euros, and by EDP which rose 0.63% to 4.81 euros. Teixeira Duarte and Navigator also closed in the green.
In the opposite direction, the biggest declines were led by EDP Renováveis, which fell 0.91% to 13 euros, by Galp Energia with a drop of 0.89% to 21.28 euros, and by Semapa which fell 0.24% to 20.60 euros. Jerónimo Martins, CTT and Altri also traded in the red.
The main European stock exchanges opened mostly in the green. Germany's DAX rose 0.22% to 25,456.32 points, France's CAC 40 advanced 0.58% to 8,163.87 points, and Spain's IBEX 35 rose 0.55% to 19,767.78 points. Italy's FTSE MIB gained 0.77% to 52,207.50 points, while Britain's FTSE 100 remained unchanged at 10,608.69 points.
In the commodities market, oil fell but remained above 100 dollars, with brent retreating 1.90% to 105.58 dollars and crude losing 1.66% to 100.78 dollars. The euro fell slightly 0.01% against the dollar to 1.16086 dollars and dropped 0.10% against the pound to 0.85860 pounds.
