Choice of positions for specialized training of doctors now made online

SAPO Notícias11 September 2026 at 07:50

New doctors will choose their specialized training positions this year online, through a new model that replaces the previous in-person process. This system represents a significant change in the way newly graduated doctors access specialization positions.

The new online model is described as comparable to the one used for higher education applications, suggesting that doctors will be able to view available positions and make their choices through a digital platform, similar to what happens with students applying to university courses.

The transition to the online system takes place in a context of modernization of administrative processes in the health sector, potentially allowing for more efficient and transparent management of the distribution of specialized training positions among new doctors.
