Portuguese are significantly increasing their use of social media and artificial intelligence tools, with more than two-thirds of the population using AI applications. Search engines and social media dominate weekly media consumption in the country.
However, when it comes to evaluating the credibility of information sources, Portuguese continue to trust television, newspapers, and radio more. These traditional media are considered more reliable for verifying the truthfulness of news.
The study reveals a contrast between consumption habits and trust perception. Although digital platforms are used more in daily life, traditional media maintain an important role in the credibility perceived by citizens.
