New school year in Leiria's schools begins with over 19 thousand students

Leiria's municipality schools started a new school year with over 19 thousand enrolled students. This number represents the size of the school community that returned to the classrooms to begin the school activities.

Leiria's educational network is made up of 184 teaching establishments, which include both public and private institutions. This diversified structure allows the educational needs of the municipality's students to be met.

Regarding human resources, the educational community has approximately 1,700 teachers, who are responsible for the teaching-learning process. Joining them are 636 operational and technical assistants, who perform support functions for the daily operation of the schools.
