The Popular Party (PP) responded this Friday through a formal statement to the accusations launched by Morocco through its Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The government in Rabat accused the main opposition party in Spain of turning the Ceuta crisis into "electoral trade fodder", meaning of instrumentalizing the situation for political gains.
Alberto Núñez Feijóo's party reiterated in writing that the Rabat regime is "responsible for what happened by action or omission", thus rejecting the Moroccan accusations and transferring responsibility for the crisis to the Moroccan side.
The Ceuta crisis, a Spanish enclave on Moroccan soil, generated significant diplomatic tension between Spain and Morocco, with both sides exchanging accusations about responsibilities for the events that originated the dispute.
