Nearly 300 Primary School Classes Still Waiting for a Teacher

Expresso11 September 2026 at 07:00

Nearly 300 primary school classes are still waiting for a teacher, according to data from the Ministry of Education. The timetables for these classes have already entered the school contracting phase, which means no available candidates were found on the national recruitment lists to fill these positions. This school-to-school contracting process is the last resort before classes begin.

The school year officially begins between this Friday and next Tuesday, depending on the regions of the country. Schools are carrying out final preparations to welcome students, but the lack of teachers in nearly 300 classes represents one of the main challenges at the start of this school year.

The situation reflects persistent difficulties in hiring teachers for primary education, where the scarcity of candidates on recruitment lists has forced schools to seek local solutions. The Ministry of Education has not yet officially commented on these figures.

Author of R$ 1 million transfer to 'Dark Horse', Marcellão remains in Bolsonaro's inner circle of advisors

Former campaign strategist Marcello Lopes, known as Marcellão, remains in the inner circle of advisors to Bolsonaro despite the Federal Police pointing to a R$ 1 million transfer made by him to the production company of the film "Dark Horse". Lopes formally left the campaign in May but continues to be consulted daily by the PL candidate for President. He is in the United States and stated that the money came from his own funds, saying he sees no need to give explanations to Bolsonaro about the episode. Bolsonaro, for his part, is carrying out agendas in the North of the country, having visited Roraima yesterday and Amazonas today.
