The Regional Federal Court of the 2nd Region (TRF2) accepted on Thursday, unanimously by the six-judge panel of the 1st Section, the indictment from the Federal Public Ministry against five accused, making them defendants for crimes including corruption, drug and arms trafficking, and smuggling.
Among the defendants is former state deputy Thiego Raimundo de Oliveira Santos, known as TH Joias, in addition to Gabriel Dias de Oliveira, known as Índio, Luiz Eduardo Cunha Gonçalves, known as Dudu, former state secretary Alessandro Pitombeira Carracena, and Federal Police delegate Gustavo Stteel.
The five are suspected of belonging to a criminal organization linked to the Red Command, target of Operation Zargun, which investigated a scheme of corruption and illegal trade of arms and drugs.
According to the MPF's indictment, the organization maintained members in public positions and operated within the Rio State Legislative Assembly (Alerj) and state secretariats to obtain police information and facilitate illegal business.
