The United States offered oil to Cuba in exchange for President Miguel Díaz-Canel's departure from power. The proposal was presented directly by American emissaries to Raúl Guillermo Rodríguez Castro, grandson of Raúl Castro and known by the nickname "The Crab".

The information was revealed by Díaz-Canel himself during an interview with the Cuban state broadcaster, in which he confirmed that the offer was rejected by the Cuban government.
