Study by Passos on reforms to be sent to Government and Belém

Observador11 September 2026 at 00:01

The study coordinated by Pedro Passos Coelho on structural reforms for Portugal is advancing. The first phase, corresponding to the diagnosis of the situation, is already completed. During this phase, the main "blockages" that hinder the country's economic growth were identified.

The study will now proceed to the Government and to Belém, meaning the Presidency of the Republic. This indicates that the work is being shared with both the executive and the President.

By the end of the year, presentations of concrete reform proposals are planned. These reforms aim at specific areas that could allow Portugal to grow more rapidly and sustainably.

The work developed by Passos Coelho is part of a broader context of discussion on the need for structural reforms in Portugal to improve competitiveness and the country's economic development.
