Recent studies from the European Observatory on Health Systems and Policies indicate that changes in care models, the incorporation of new technologies, and the growing demands of health services have generated significant competency gaps among area professionals.
The Association for Management, Innovation and Results in Health (Agir), through its Teaching Agir program, has been dedicated to preparing these professionals for sector challenges. The organization offers training in strategic areas such as leadership and management, meeting the need for continuous training of the health workforce.
Carlos Eduardo Gomes da Silva, known as Kadu Gomes, is an administrator, specialist in Operational Excellence and Lean Six Sigma, and serves as executive advisor at Agir. According to him, training in leadership and management has become a growing requirement for professionals who take on new responsibilities within health organizations.
Kadu Gomes highlights that, as they advance in their careers, doctors, nurses, and other professionals take on responsibilities that go beyond direct patient care, requiring management and leadership skills to effectively operate in these new roles.
