The European Central Bank decided to raise interest rates, in a decision that reflects the persistent concern with inflation in the euro area. This measure comes in a context of inflationary pressures that continue to affect the European economy.
The ECB also indicated that a new rate increase is already on the horizon, suggesting that the monetary authority intends to maintain a restrictive trajectory to contain inflation in the coming months.
Despite concerns about inflation, the ECB revised upwards its economic growth projection for the euro area, which indicates a more positive outlook than previously forecast for economic activity in the region.
